WHAT THIS MEANT TO THE CLIENT:

CLIENT: VOSPower

VOSPower is the waterjet propulsion division of Vosper Thorneycroft. The division designs and makes the power units ideal for landing craft and harbour craft where beaching and flotsam strewn water would damage propellors.

The client sought an Agency that had a good feeling for marine engineering and engineers. TANDEM was suggested by the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

BRIEF:

This client sought an Agency that had the technical background to understand its complex products and the international market in which they were sold. The challenge was to establish a distinct divisional identity which nevertheless sat comfortably within the corporate identity of its parent.

RESULTS & OUTCOME:

We cerated a very distinct and attractive divisional idenity and applied it within TANDEM’s very successful ‘Literature Hierarchy’ concept.

The concept takes a company’s overall need for literature and splits it into a clear hierarchy:

  1. corporate level
  2. product literature level
  3. data sheet level
  4. technical manual.

This allowed us to concentrate on the main job each level had to do. But vitally it allowed us to produce each to an appropriate production value, so no over-glossy data sheets, or dull product literature.

The result was not only clear literature at each level with great impact, but a 27% cost saving too.
